Tramell Tillman is Reportedly Playing a Villain in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Following the recent news of another casting addition for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, new reports suggest that Severance star Tramell Tillman will be stepping into a villainous role in the highly anticipated Marvel sequel.

Tillman, who audiences will also see in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, was recently revealed as a late addition to the cast. While his role had been kept under wraps, speculation immediately took off.

Many fans pegged him as either Robbie Robertson, Peter Parker’s colleague at the Daily Bugle, or the notorious mobster Tombstone.

Tombstone felt like a logical choice, given that Alonzo Thompson “Lonnie” Lincoln has been rumored to appear in Brand New Day alongside a lineup of Spidey’s other foes. But according to Nexus Point News, Tillman won’t be playing Tombstone after all, though he will indeed be portraying a villain.

That leaves the door wide open for possibilities. One rumor is that the film opens with a montage of Spider-Man facing off against a string of villains, which could provide Tillman with a memorable introduction.

Still, it seems unlikely Marvel would cast him in such a small role unless they plan to bring him back in future installments.

The report comes on the heels of another recent rumor claiming Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova, though that has yet to be confirmed. If true, she’d be joining a packed ensemble that already includes Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, and newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles.

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also set to return as MJ and Ned Leeds, but word is their presence in this chapter won’t be as central as in past films.

With Tom Holland back as Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Brand New Day looks to balance street-level storytelling with larger Marvel Universe connections. The film is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
