Travis Knight, Andy Serkis, and Rupert Wyatt in The Running To Direct VENOM 2

Sony Pictures is on the hunt for a director to take on Venom 2. Ruben Fleischer directed the first film, which starred Tom Hardy, but he will obviously not be back to direct. He is currently in post-production on Zombieland: Double Tap.

According to Variety, the studio is currently in talks with Andy Serkis (Mowgli), Travis Knight (Bumblebee), and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes). No deal has been made with any of these directors yet, they are just a handful of filmmakers that they are meeting with.

Out of all these choices my favorite is Travis Knight. I love what he did with Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings, and I think he could make a Venom sequel that is far superior to the first one. I think Serkis is the worst choice. His Jungle Book movie Mowgli was awful. As for Wyatt, I think he would give us sequel that is the same caliber as the first one.

Sony is hoping to start shooting in the Fall, There are no details on the story for the sequel, but Carnage is sure to play a big role in it. After all Woody Harrelson was introduced as Cletus Kasady, who becomes Carnage.

Out of these choices, who would you like to see direct Venom 2?
