Trevor Noah is Developing a New Animated Film For Paramount Pictures
Trevor Noah is set to develop an untitled animated feature film with Paramount Pictures and Paramount Animation. The project is based on an original idea from Noah, but there are no plot details to share. All we know is that it will be “timely, poignant and comedic.”
The script for the film will be written by Jonathan Groff (Black-ish) and Jon Pollack (Modern Family). Noah will serve as a producer via his Day Zero Productions, with his president of production Haroon Saleem.
Noah is a stand-up comedian who is now the host of The Daily Show. I haven’t watched the show since Jon Stewart left, but Noah seems to have a decent-sized fan base that enjoys his work. It’ll be interesting to see what exactly he’s come up with regarding a story for this animated film project.
Paramount Animation is currently being run by Mireille Soria, who has a mission to develop and produce top-quality animated and hybrid-animation titles. Some of the upcoming projects they’ve developed include The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, which will be available on VOD and CBS All Access streaming services in early 2021; Rumble, which is scheduled for theatrical release in May 2021; Under the Boardwalk, which will be released in 2022; and The Tiger’s Apprentice, which is coming in 2023.
