Trevor Noah Trolled Everyone at the Oscars

Trevor Noah introduced Black Panther at the Oscars this weekend. True to form, the comedian made some jokes and then he spoke a phrase in Xhosa, a Bantu language that was present in the film. Noah then told viewers that the phrase translated to, “In times like these, we are stronger when we fight together than when we try to fight apart.” This sounds like a heartfelt message during a time when people are often fighting with each other over just about everything. However, some outlets have discovered that Noah lied. The Xhosa phrase does not say what he led us to believe, but rather, “White people don’t know I’m lying.” Personally, I find this funny and very on-brand for him as he has not shied away from his African heritage. What do you think about this little bit of trolling?
