TRICK 'R TREAT Returns to Theaters This Halloween in a Stunning 4K Remaster; Watch the Trailer!
It’s not Halloween without watching Trick ‘r Treat, and this year the cult classic is heading back to theaters in a newly restored 4K presentation. Horror fans will be able to catch the film on the big screen October 14 and 16, just in time to kick off spooky fun season.
Fathom Entertainment announced that the screenings will also include a special treat for fans. Alongside the film, audiences will get a remastered version of director Mike Dougherty’s 1996 short Season’s Greetings.
The short introduced the character Sam, the mischievous pumpkin-headed enforcer of Halloween traditions, and offers a glimpse into the ideas that eventually shaped the feature film.
“Horror fans have long been thirsting for Trick ‘r Treat to take its rightful place back on the big screen and in cinemas nationwide,” said Fathom’s Tom Lucas.
“We’re thrilled to bring this classic horror film back in theaters in sparkling 4K with our partners just in time for Halloween. A stellar cast helps make Trick ‘r Treat a frightening cinematic experience fans will not want to miss!”
Trick ‘r Treat first hit festival circuits in 2007 before finding its audience on DVD in 2009, quickly becoming a Halloween staple.
Over the years, fans have been vocal about wanting a sequel, and while Dougherty has expressed interest, and it was confirmed it was happening at one point, it still has yet to materialize. Until that day comes, watching the original in theaters remains the perfect way to celebrate the season.
This new 4K remaster gives fans the best possible version of a film that has only grown in popularity over the years. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, seeing Trick ‘r Treat on the big screen promises to be an unforgettable and fun Halloween experience.
