TRON 3 Needs to Live and There's a Petition to Sign

When I was 13 I discovered Tron. Tron was unlike anything I had seen before. Yeah, the CGI wasn't on par with the stuff I had grown up with, but it really struck a chord with me. I was instantly hooked on the world the film created. The Grid was just so unique. I knew I was experiencing something I had never seen before. It was one of the first movies where I really rooted for the heroes and had emotional investment in them.

Tron: Legacy was released in 2010, and even though it didn't necessarily have the heart of the original, it came pretty damn close. The Grid had never been more beautiful. I was so immersed in this digital realm. They took what Tron did and expanded on it in spectacular ways. The introduction of Quorra also added upon the philosophical layers that the first Tron only touched upon. A digital creation being introduced to the real world was a great way to end the film.

When it was recently announced that Disney was planning a third installment (Tron: Ascension), I was ecstatic. I was so excited to return to the Grid and see the effect Quora had on the real world. So I was incredibly heartbroken to learn that Disney has pulled the plug on it. I don't know why, but many are assuming that the underwhelming performance of Tomorrowland is to blame.

Tron and its characters and world are too amazing not to be explored. There are stories here, and it'd be a shame not to tell them or at least give people the ability to.

I advise those who share my feelings on Tron to sign the petition below. I don't know if it'll do any good, but all we can do is try and hope for the best. Hopefully I see you on The Grid.
