TRUE DETECTIVE Creator Nic Pizzolatto Developing a Western Drama Series For Amazon
True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto is set to develop a western drama series for Amazon and it’s already received a series commitment.
The untitled series revolves around “a former outlaw who must reckon with a threat from his past in order to keep the life and family he has worked so hard to build.”
Pizzolatto has proved that he’s a great storyteller and it’s exciting to learn that he’s going to jump into the western genre. From the little we know, it sounds like a generic concept, but I have no doubt that Pizzolatto and his team will develop a great story with all kinds of deep, interesting, and dark layers to it.
This is no doubt Amazon’s attempt to replicate the success that Paramount+ has been having with Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone franchise.
