Turbo Jetts Are the New Heelys
Do you guys remember Heelys? They were the shoes with the wheels in the heels. I remember them being popular about 10 years ago when I was in high school and I wanted a pair so bad. Heck, there are still moments when I wish I had a pair. Well, Razor, the scooter company, has created a motorized version called Turbo Jetts. Now, Turbo Jetts are not built directly into the shoe which is pretty nice because that means you can wear whatever shoe (up to a size 12) you want and still be able to zip around places. They actually remind me of the "hoverboards" (they didn't hover so how can you call them that?!) that people got really into a couple years ago, but the board is split in half. The only other big limitation these have is that they can only support up to 176 pounds. Looks like some of us (me) are going to have to go lose some weight.
These attachments to your shoes are battery powered and can reach speeds up to 10 miles per hour for 30 minutes. Razor does point out that there is a learning curve. This is to be expected with anything like this though. Your feet will not be solidly planted on the ground, so you will have to work on your balance. However, a company representative has said, “it should only take a few hours to find your balance and get the hang of how they feel.” Turbo Jetts will set you back $130, but man do I want a pair. Plus, imagine what cosplayers could do with these things!
