TURBO KID Gets A Totally Awesome New Trailer and Release Date!

Turbo Kid was one of my favorite movies I saw at Sundance earlier this year, and you'll get a chance to see it for yourself this summer! We have a new trailer for you to watch today that shows off more of the story, characters and ultra-violent badassery. Turbo Kid will be released in theaters and on VOD August 28th!

This is a movie you will not want to miss because it's so damn entertaining. If you're a fan of the '80s and violent action films, you're going to love it as it takes place in a post-apocalyptic 1997. It's like a Mad Max-style movie with insanely decked out bicycles instead of cars. The movie has the makings of a cult classic, and this is what I said in my review:

This movie may have a childlike kind of vibe to it, but don't let that fool you. The violence just makes the concept of the film even more radical. The mixture of the colorful kid type stuff with the crazy insanity is a perfect recipe for greatness.

You can read my review for the movie here, and watch out video review here. Here's the synopsis:

It's 1997. In a ruined post-apocalyptic world, the orphaned Kid survives on his own through drought-ridden nuclear winter, traversing the Wasteland on his BMX, scavenging for scraps to trade for a scant supply of water. When his perpetually chipper, pink-haired new best friend Apple is kidnapped by a minion of evil overlord Zeus, the Kid summons the courage of his comic book hero and prepares to deliver turbocharged justice to Zeus, his buzzsaw-handed sidekick Skeletron, and their vicious masked army.

The movie was directed by Anouk Whissell, François Simard, and Yoann-Karl Whissell. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie when it's released! It's a total blast! You'll see what I mean after you watch the trailer.

In a post-apocalyptic future a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl. From horror masterminds Ant Timpson (The ABCs Of Death 1 & 2, Housebound) and Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun).
