Turner Classic Movies and Criterion Collection Announce New Streaming Service FilmStruck
As Netflix becomes an even larger powerhouse with its original content, you've probably noticed the quality of films available for streaming on the platform has dropped. Why would studios license out their good movies to Netflix when they can just create their own streaming platforms? Well, here's some good news for those of you who are looking for a one-stop-shop for classic films: Turner Classic Movies and The Criterion Collection (which is leaving Hulu) have announced a brand new streaming service called FilmStruck, an ad-free place where viewers can watch "a comprehensive and constantly refreshed library of films comprised of an eclectic mix of contemporary and classic arthouse, indie, foreign and cult films."
There's no word yet on what the monthly subscription fee will be, but the service is slated to launch this fall. Does this sound like something you'd subscribe to? Be sure to check out FilmStruck.com to sign up for more info.
