TV Show in The Works Based on MIRROR'S EDGE Video Game

TV Mirror's Edge by Ben Pearson

Deadline reports that Endemol Shine Studios has acquired the rights to the popular first-person POV video game Mirror's Edge and they're developing a TV series adaptation.

Mirror’s Edge is set in a quasi-futuristic dystopian society in which a network of “runners” act as couriers to transmit messages while evading government surveillance. The game’s main character and heroine is Faith, a runner and skilled warrior whose sister is framed for murder. The narrative follows Faith as she is drawn into the fight against the ruling Conglomerate and becomes enveloped in a conspiracy that could bring down society itself.

I've only played the demo of the first game, but if the TV adaptation is anything like the games, there's going to be a hell of a lot of parkour going on. No word yet on a showrunner or any talent attached, but this could be a cool female-centric show with a hell of an opportunity for breakout star status for its leading lady, so it'll be interesting to see who they cast as Faith.

The upcoming Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a reboot, and you can watch the launch trailer for that game below:
