TV Spot and Poster for HAIL, CAESAR! The Most Epic Comedy of the Year

We’ve got a new TV spot and poster for Joel and Ethan Coen’s upcoming film Hail, Caesar!, which is being billed as the most epic comedy of the year. The films that these guys make are always freakin’ fantastic, and this next film of theirs looks wonderfully entertaining.

I do find it interesting that even though the trailers are marketing this film as a comedy, the composer of the film, Carter Burwell, said this about it in an interview with THR:

“I wouldn’t actually call it a ‘musical comedy’ — there are movies within the movie, and those movies might have comedic music, but the movie we’re making is actually not comical. I haven’t written the music yet, but I’m quite certain it’s actually going to be quite the opposite. It’s going to be rather serious, and it’s about faith. It’s not about the music.
“It’s actually pretty complicated, musically — you’ll see, the themes that I’m writing for the movie have to relate to the themes of the movies within the movie. So it’s actually this rug with all these threads going in and out. But I haven’t written it yet!”

Sounds like a Coen brothers movie to me! The film also has a great ensemble cast that includes George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, and Frances McDormand

It's set in the golden age of Hollywood, and the story follows "a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with plenty of problems to fix." It's a comedic take that revolves around Eddie Mannix (Brolin) as he juggles movie stars, gossip columnists, and more.

The movie hits theaters on February 5th, 2016.
