TWINS Sequel TRIPLETS May Have New Life
In 2012, rumors started to circulate that there was going to be a sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins. As unfortunate as that sounds, talks of the sequel faded, and it looked like we were going to be saved the awkwardness.
Well, in a recent interview on the Howard Stern show, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced that things may be moving forward with Triplets. Here is the synopsis that he gave:
"Now we are talking about a sequel, where we find out at the funeral of our mother, that when we read the will, that there’s three of us. Eddie Murphy is going to be the third one and so they go, ‘How did that happen’ Theres an African American coming in here and all of a sudden he’s our brother. So we go to do the research but he can only get the money if we find him, so now we have to get him involved."
No matter who is going to be in it, I still don’t have the best feeling about this. However, it sounds like the cast is happy with the Josh Gad-written script. Here is what Arnold had to say:
"Eddie Murphy loves the idea. Danny DeVito and I had lunch with Eddie Murphy over at my house, and we talked about the thing, and we were laughing and laughing the whole meal through because it was such a funny idea. And of course, who wouldn’t like it."
Given the fact that Gad is in charge of the script, the project has a glimmer of hope. At this point there is no timetable of when the movie will get made. In fact, I am not even sure that Universal has given the project the green light. So, we will keep you informed if anything changes. Until then, what are your thoughts on the possible Twins sequel?
