Two Elf Brothers Embark on a Magical Quest in New Trailer for Pixar's ONWARD
Disney has released a new trailer for Pixar’s upcoming fantasy adventure comedy Onward. The film follows two elf brothers who embark on a magical quest in a fantasy world where magic is a thing of the past. The trailer is packed with fun and adventurous new footage that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
The story is set in a suburban fantasy world, and the two teenage elf brothers go on a journey to discover if there is still a little magic left in the world thanks to their father, who they attempt to bring back to life for a short time with some spell instructions he left behind for them.
The adventure they set out on involves finding a stone to complete the spell that they started that will allow them to bring their dad back, so that they can see him one more time. The first time they attempt the spell they only manage to bring back the bottom half of their dad, just the legs. Their father joins his sons on the journey in disguise, and they have 24 hours to finish the spell to bring the rest of him back.
The film looks great, and it features a great voice cast that includes Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer. Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) directed the movie, and when previously talking about the film, he explained that the story was inspired by his own relationship with his brother. He went on to say:
“In the film, we’re going to tell the story of two teenage elf brothers whose father died when they were too young to remember him. But thanks to the little magic still left in the world, the boys embark on a quest that will allow them a chance to spend one last magical day with their father.”
Onward will arrive in theaters on March 6th, 2020.
