Two New Rumors Claim to Address VENOM in SPIDER-MAN 4 as Well as Sadie Sink's MCU Role
Marvel fans are looking forward to 2026. Not only do we have the kick-off to our next two major Avengers event films, but we also have the long-awaited return of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day- the follow-up to the mega hit feature, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
Rumors around both films have been running rampant, but we report them all in case there’s merit, and these two new ones seem pretty interesting.
First up, industry scooper @MyTimeToShineH has reported that Venom will have "some kind of role" in the next Spider-Man movie. Many fans had expected this to be saved for Avengers: Secret Wars, but Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with Tom Hardy's Venom leaving a piece of himself behind on Earth 616, which hasn’t truly been addressed since, so we'll see.
Stranger Things star Sadie Sink's Spider-Man: Brand New Day is another big talking point in the rumor mill. Her casting has been confirmed, but her role has been kept under wraps. It was originally reported that she'd play Jean Grey, the X-Men character, but there’s some interesting speculation around even that. While this is less of an officially sourced report and more of a theory,
The Den of Nerds' @JoshDenofNerds has proposed of the character, "So, she's Jean Grey but it's complicated... Kang has made it so the 616 X-Men don't know they are the X-Men... Kinda hard to explain but you'll see."
That lines up with previous rumors about Kang the Conqueror removing the X-Men and Fantastic Four from the Sacred Timeline due to the threat they pose to him. There's also tons of speculation on social media about Severance star Tramell Tillman potentially taking over the role of Kang from Jonathan Majors.
This feels more like a theory than anything, and introducing an amnesiac Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day—presumably to set up Avengers: Doomsday—would be an interesting move on Marvel Studios' part. Still, a minor Multiversal subplot could work.
As usual, we will just have to wait and see how it all pans out. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to be released on July 31, 2026.
