Ubisoft is Developing a SPLINTER CELL Anime Series for Netflix with JOHN WICK Writer Derek Kolstad

Ubisoft is teaming up with Netflix to develop an anime series adaptation of the hit Tom Clancy video game franchise Splinter Cell. As a fan of this franchise, this is exciting news and what makes it even better is the fact that John Wick and Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Derek Kolstad will write and executive producer on the series.

For those of you not familiar with the franchise, which made its debut in 2002, it follows former U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher after he is recruited by the NSA to work for the mysterious Third Echelon division within the agency. The game sees Fisher engage in a number of black ops missions, employing stealth and military tactics.

The original game spawned six sequels and a series of novels. There’s also a film that his been in development for years with Tom Hardy attached to star. I’m not sure what is happening with that right now, but at least we will be getting an anime series!

While we don’t have any story details to share on the series, we do know that it has received a two-season, 16 episode order. Animation is great way to bring this Splinter Cell series to life, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out. What do you all think?
