Ubisoft Unveils RAINBOW SIX SIEGE X: "A Game-Changing Evolution, Not a Sequel"

Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Siege X, a project they’re calling a “major evolution” of their long-running tactical shooter. It’s not a sequel, but it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest updates the game has ever seen.

With significant graphical and audio overhauls, plus new ways to experience the game, Siege X is looking to breathe fresh life into the Rainbow Six community.

The big reveal happened during the Rainbow Six Invitational, where Ubisoft surprised fans with the announcement. While some had speculated about a full-fledged Rainbow Six Siege 2, Ubisoft made it clear that Siege X is something different.

According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft developers Alex Karpazis and Joshua Mills explained the project like this:

“It is not Siege 2, and it’s not just another update. It’s a major evolution. We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remains the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooters.

“This means major graphical and audio upgrades, refined game-feel, and new ways to enjoy the game, all while staying true to what makes the core of Siege so special.”

Karpazis also talked about how big of a leap forward Siege X is, saying: “Such a significant leap forward that we can’t possibly do it justice here at the Six Invitational.”

You can watch the teaser trailer for Rainbow Six Siege X below. Ubisoft is keeping most details under wrap for now. If you’re eager to see what’s coming, you won’t have to wait long. A dedicated Rainbow Six Siege X Showcase is set for March 13, 2025, and Ubisoft promises a full feature breakdown, live gameplay, and a few surprises.
