Ubisoft's Film Adaptation of WEREWOLVES WITHIN Moves Forward With a Director and Cast
The feature film adaptation of Ubisoft’s virtual reality game Werewolves Within is moving forward with director Josh Ruben (Scare Me) and actors Michael Chernus (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Sam Richardson (Veep). The film will be a horror-comedy, which is perfect for Ruben.
I recently saw Ruben’s film Scare Me at the Sundance Film Festival, and I absolutely enjoyed it! It was a very funny, minimalist horror-comedy. Werewolves Within was adapted by screenwriter and author Mishna Wolff and stars Veep‘s Sam Richardson.
The Werewolves Within game is set in “a fictitious medieval town where a werewolf is attacking the townspeople, and players must guess who among them is the werewolf in disguise.” As for the plot of the movie, here’s the logline that was shared:
Shenanigans ensue when a massive blizzard isolates a small Vermont town, causing simmering resentments to boil over as the oddball townspeople are one by one picked off by a mysterious creature.
Chernus will take on the role Pete, “who is married to Trish but does not share her beliefs as staunchly. He considers himself a charmer, but just comes off as an overly friendly sleaze who can get a bit handsy especially after a glass of merlot.”
This could end up being a very fun movie, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
