TV and filmmakers are slowly getting back to the studios and sets to continue where they left off in making the shows and movies that got shut down amidst the pandemic. But studios realize that they can’t just go back to normal, as the world has to take certain precautions now to protect ourselves from the widespread illness that is still a concern.

Universal has decided that the first movie they are ready to take back to set is Jurassic World: Dominion. The movie is being shot in the UK, which also has its own set of standard protocols to follow, and the studio is working to accommodate them. In a recent report from Deadline, Universal told the outlet that pre-production will start in two weeks, and shooting is set to begin in early-mid July.

The studio is said to be spending $5 million on the protocols that include thousands of tests (several per person throughout the shooting schedule), as well as private medical care “to manage the entire production’s medical needs; Covid training for all cast and crew; on-site doctors, nurses and isolation booths; 150 hand sanitizer stations; nightly anti-viral ‘fogs’; more than 1,800 safety signs put up around Pinewood; and ‘Green Zones’ for shooting cast and crew. Masks will be obligatory other than for actors while performing.”

The studio and all involved in the film are taking the process very seriously, and hopefully this will keep everyone safe. Jurassic World: Dominion is currently set to hit theaters on June 11, 2021, and hopefully things will go smoothly to keep it that way.
