Universal Studios Hollywood Unleashes Its Full Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Lineup

Universal Studios Hollywood is ready to ruin your Christmas, crash your quinceañera, unleash killer clowns, and send you running through a bog filled with monsters. In other words, Halloween Horror Nights is almost back.

Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed the complete 2026 lineup for Halloween Horror Nights, filling out an already impressive collection of haunted houses with Killer Klowns From Outer Space, KILLceañera: Music by SLASH, Dead, Deader, Deadest, and plenty of other nightmares scattered throughout the park.

This year's event kicks off Thursday, September 3, and runs on select nights through Sunday, November 1, giving horror fans nearly two months to test their nerves.

One of the coolest additions involves the return of the Terror Tram, which is getting hijacked by Art the Clown from the Terrifier movies. Apparently, Art has decided Halloween isn't enough for him because he's also bringing a thoroughly messed-up Christmas celebration to the Universal backlot.

Universal explains: “The infamous Terror Tram returns with an all-new host, Art the Clown in “Terror Tram starring Art the Clown.” When the demented killer arrives to the historic Universal backlot with his blood-soaked bag of presents, he realizes it is too early for Christmas and hijacks the tram for his own holiday celebration.

“Metal band Ice Nine Kills will create new music for the experience, putting a dark twist on classic Christmas songs. In addition, guests who think they escaped Art’s chaos on the backlot may find themselves encountering him in the theme park as he lurks in the most unsuspecting of places. “

Having Art wandering around the park after guests survive the Terror Tram is a particularly nasty touch. Getting away from him once apparently doesn't count.

The experience will also feature new music from Ice Nine Kills, with the metal band creating twisted versions of traditional Christmas songs. Art the Clown, a bloody bag of presents, Christmas music, and the Universal backlot sounds like an appropriately deranged combination.

Another returning favorite is Killer Klowns From Outer Space, inspired by the wonderfully bizarre 1988 cult horror comedy. The murderous extraterrestrial circus freaks are coming back to Halloween Horror Nights, complete with the kind of colorful '80s insanity that makes this property such a great fit for a haunted house.

It won't be alone: “Fan-Favorite cult horror classic “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” invades Halloween Horror Nights once again, giving guests another chance to step back in time to the 1980’s and escape a group of murderous alien circus clowns.

“Dead, Deader, Deadest, an original haunted house, takes guests on a tour of an abandoned funeral home where disturbing acts once took place. The Purge: Dangerous Waters stunt show returns to the WaterWorld venue for a fiery quest to survive the night.”

Dead, Deader, Deadest brings an original story into the mix, taking visitors inside an abandoned funeral home with a seriously unpleasant history. Meanwhile, The Purge: Dangerous Waters returns to the WaterWorld venue with its combination of stunt performers, fire, action, and Purge-style mayhem.

Then there's KILLceañera: Music by SLASH, which may have one of the wildest concepts in this year's lineup.

Universal shared: “Continuing the tradition of showcasing Latin American myths and legends, this year brings “KILLceañera: Music by SLASH” to Halloween Horror Nights.

“The all-original house centers on the quinceañera of Lola, who turns this rite of passage for fifteen-year-old girls into a festival of death to take revenge on everyone who wronged her. Grammy® Award-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH composes an original score for the house featuring Spanish guitar and an exclusive song titled ‘15 Candles.’”

Halloween Horror Nights will also bring Obsession into the park, with Nikki from the Focus Features horror hit joining the festivities. The film comes from writer-director Curry Barker, and anyone hoping to meet Nikki might want to reconsider exactly what they're wishing for.

“For those whose only wish is to meet Nikki, Halloween Horror Nights unleashes the iconic main character from Focus Features and writer-director Curry Barker's breakout horror blockbuster, Obsession onto the darkened streets of Universal Studios Hollywood, where guests may find themselves face-to-face with the latest victim of the One Wish Willow’s terrifying curse.”

Of course, getting from one haunted house to another won't offer much relief. Universal is filling the streets with several scare zones, including Hackerz, Fortnitemares, El Circo de la Muerte, and Blood Bog.

Fortnitemares takes inspiration from Fortnite and its annual Halloween event, while El Circo de la Muerte draws from traveling Mexican circuses and sideshow acts of the 1930s before giving them a much more sinister makeover.

Blood Bog, meanwhile, throws moss monsters into the swamps and bayous. Because apparently regular swamp water wasn't unpleasant enough.

“Additionally, horror fans will encounter multiple daunting scare zones throughout Halloween Horror Nights. As they begin their terrifying evening, guests will need to dodge a troop of chainsaw killers in “Hackerz” and scream their way through “Fortnitemares,” an immersive scare zone based on Fortnite’s signature in-game event, which brings new characters and horror-themed gameplay together every year.

“As guests exit the “KILLceañera: Music by SLASH” house, they will encounter “El Circo de la Muerte,” a scare zone centered on the 1930’s circus and sideshow acts that traveled across Mexico – but with a terrifying twist. Guests will also need to survive “Blood Bog,” where moss monsters roam the bogs and bayous.”

There will be even more creatures and characters waiting around the park. The popular Murder of Crowz returns with dad, mom, and baby crow heading back to the nest, while Shriek of the Banshee introduces a carnival barker operating a wagon alongside his talking skeleton.

All of these additions join a lineup of previously announced Halloween Horror Nights 2026 haunted houses based on Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn. There's also a house paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Prince of Darkness.

That's a pretty ridiculous collection of horror in one park. You've got demonic puzzle boxes, Deadites, Upside Down monsters, killer clowns from space, Art the Clown, chainsaw maniacs, swamp creatures, Purge killers, and Ozzy. Good luck finding a safe corner.

Universal Studios Hollywood is also introducing something new for fans who spend half their time inside a haunted house trying to figure out how everything was built.

The “Unmasking the Horror Tour Add-On” will debut in 2026 as a daytime, behind-the-scenes experience offering guests a closer look at the craftsmanship and creative work that goes into building Halloween Horror Nights. It should be a cool option for horror fans who love the production design, practical effects, sets, props, and technical tricks almost as much as getting scared by them.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 at Universal Studios Hollywood runs on select nights from September 3 through November 1.

With Art the Clown hijacking the Terror Tram, Killer Klowns invading the park again, SLASH scoring a murderous quinceañera, Deadites and Cenobites waiting inside their own houses, and an entire collection of scare zones making the walk between attractions dangerous, Universal has put together one hell of a Halloween playground this year.

The big question is, which haunted house are you hitting first?
