Universal's Dark Universe Takes Another Blow as The Writer of INVISIBLE MAN Has Dropped Out

If it wasn't obvious prior to The Mummy reboot tanking at the box office, Universal's monster universe is dead. That's meant literally and figuratively as Bloody Disgusting reports more bad news today related to the Dark Universe as writer Ed Solomon said he's no longer working on Invisible Man:

“At the end of the day, I think Universal and I had a different idea of what the movie was gonna be. We began thinking that our notions would meld, and I should’ve listened more closely to what they really were wanting. I think Universal has had to come to a kind of reckoning of, ‘What are we doing with the Dark Universe?’ and, ‘What is our real intention with it?’, and I think they’re reconfiguring it now, which I think is probably good. So I’m not working on it,”

Solomon is the third to exit the film as the Dark Universe idea men Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan have left as well. The film was slated to star Johnny Depp, and while it still could happen... I think at this point we're all wondering why it should. Let's just let this idea slowly fade away Universal, at least until you think of a better way to bring these monsters back to life on the big screen!
