A trailer has been released for the coming of age drama The Plague, from writer and director Charlie Polinger in his feature directorial debut. The cast includes Joel Edgerton, Everett Blunck, Kayo Martin, and Kenny Rasmussen.

The synopsis reads:

“At an all-boys water polo camp, a socially anxious twelve-year-old is pulled into a cruel tradition targeting an outcast with an illness they call ‘The Plague.’ But as the lines between game and reality blur, he fears the joke might be hiding something real.”

This looks like a hard watch, but very well done. The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and IFC Films will debut it in select US theaters on December 24th, with a wide release on January 2nd. Check out the trailer below:
