Unofficial D&D Supplement Adds New Barbarian Paths and Flavor for Existing Ones
Alex Clippinger has created Book of the Path: A Barbarian Sourcebook. This is an unofficial supplement for Dungeons & Dragons, and in case you couldn’t tell, is designed solely for anyone playing a Barbarian. One of the big highlights of Book of the Path is that it is designed to help guide players in creating more flavor text to the abilities of each official Barbarian path in an attempt to help improve the narrative of the campaign. For example, for Path of the Ancestral Guardian, Clippinger suggests creating and naming some ancestral spirits that are your Ancestral Protectors. This is a brilliant idea that helps add a layer of depth to your character.
Flavor isn’t the only thing Book of the Path has to offer though. Inside you’ll find six new paths:
Path of the Battle-Skald - a storytelling barbarian that summons the imagery of its war-songs into deadly reality.
Path of the Unbound - a warrior who breaks free from any bond and turns chains against those that would use them.
Path of the Possessed - a barbarian that shares its body with a vengeful spirit and gains spectral powers as a result.
Path of the Ragebringer - a combatant that inspires their allies with their lust for battle.
Path of the Timeshaper - a temporal warrior that leaves time-delayed afterimages of itself behind.
Path of the Vengeful - a barbarian that excels at turning their pain into doled-out punishment.
If this sounds cool to you, you can head on over to DMs Guild and pick up Book of the Path for $3.95.
