Unsettling Clip From The 18th Century Horror Film THE DEVIL'S BATH

Shudder has released a new clip from the upcoming Austrian horror drama film titled The Devil's Bath, the story of which is set in the 18th century. The clip offers an unsettling look at the harsh realities of living in that era.

In 1750 Austria, “a deeply religious woman named Agnes has just married her beloved, but her mind and heart soon grow heavy as her life becomes a long list of chores and expectations.

“Day after day, she is increasingly trapped in a murky and lonely path leading to evil thoughts until the possibility of committing a shocking act of violence seems like the only way out of her inner prison.”

The woman faces a grim fate for a horrifying crime. As Agnes prepares for her wedding, sinister forces stir, plunging her into darkness and despair.”

The movie comes from filmmakers Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz (Goodnight Mommy and The Lodge) and it looks like they’ve made a chilling psychological horror movie.

The film stars Anja Plaschg, Maria Hofstätter, and David Scheid. The film is now streaming on Shudder.
