Unsettling First Trailer For The Upcoming Stephen King Series MR. MERCEDES
The first full trailer has been released for AT&T’s Audience network's new original series Mr. Mercedes, which is an adaptation of Stephen King's novel. I don't know if you've ever read the book, but this is going to be a very dark and unsettling series. King has described the book as his first "hard-boiled detective tale."
The show comes from screenwriter David E. Kelley (Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, The Practice, Big Little Lies) and director Jack Bender (Game of Thrones). The main cast members of the series include Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful), Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter), and Mary Louise-Parker (Weeds). Here's the synopsis:
Mr. Mercedes follows a demented killer Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway) who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.
Some of the other cast members include Kelly Lynch (Magic City) as Deborah Hartsfield, Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) as Jerome Robinson, Scott Lawrence (Avatar) as Detective Peter Dixon, Robert Stanton (Mercury Rising) as Anthony “Robi” Frobisher, Breeda Wool (Unreal) as Lou Linklatter, Justine Lupe (Francis Ha) as Holly Gibney, Ann Cusack (Nightcrawler) as Olivia Trelawney, and Holland Taylor (The Truman Show) as Ida Silver.
The series consists of 10 hour-long episodes and it will premiere on August 9th on AT&T’s Audience network. DIRECTV CH. 239, U-verse CH. 1114 or streaming on DIRECTV NOW. I'll definitely be tuning into watch. The series looks great!
