Unused Designs for Hulkbuster, Vision, and Ultron in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
Some concept art has surfaced for unused character designs for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The characters here include Hulkbuster, Vision, and Ultron. The first eight images you see here were created by Phil Saunders. The rest of the art was created by conceptual artist Ryan Meinerding. It’s always interesting seeing how these characters could have looked in the movie.
I also included some quotes from Saunders talking about some of the pieces that he created.
"This was one of the 'first round' designs that really got a lot of attention and was an early pick. The idea of having large gaps in the limbs and torso to keep it from feeling "man in suit" remained through the final design."
"Another stage in the evolution of this design, making the mechanics less refined. An idea of how the Vibranium would pour onto it as well."
"A more refined version from the second round, working from Ryan's head design and incorporating his intricate panel breakup aesthetic into the body For a while we all thought this one was a "go," but Joss Whedon was looking for something a little more relatably mechanical."
