Up Your Genesis Game with the New Officially Licensed SEGA Genesis Controllers from Retro-Bit
The SEGA Genesis is a beloved video game console that saw an interesting controller design. Well, if you need or want a new Genesis controller for your console or PC, Retro-Bit recently launched pre-orders for the new BIG6 pads. These all have the 6-button configuration and come in three variants. The first variant is wired (10ft/3m) with a connector for the SEGA Genesis. This works with original Genesis and Mega Drive consoles and has been tested to work with many other consoles that have Genesis controller ports. This will retail for $16.99.
Next, we have the wired (10ft/3m) variant with a USB connector. This lets you connect to a PC sporting Windows 7 or later, Mac, or other USB devices like a Raspberry Pi or Nintendo Switch. In fact, one of the differences between this version of their controller and the previous is that it has an updated board complete with macros. One of the macros remaps the controller to work with the Genesis Nintendo Switch Online app on the Nintendo Switch! You also get two shoulder buttons, a Home button, and a Select button added to the controller. The USB variant will retail for $19.99.
Finally, if you believe in not being tethered to 10 feet of cord and prefer wireless action, there’s a 2.4GHz wireless version. This comes with two receivers, one USB and one Genesis, so you can connect to whatever devices you need. In the box you’ll also get a 3.3ft/1m USB-C charging cable for the rechargeable 500mAh Li-ion batter. The wireless range is up to 30ft/10m to provide quite a bit of space for you. You can grab this for $34.99.
All of the above controllers are now available to pre-order on Castlemania Games. The two wired versions are expected to ship out in October while the wireless version will take longer with an expected release of late November. Oh, and did I mention that these are officially licensed?
