Val KiImer Shares His Life in New Trailer For His Documentary VAL
A trailer has been released for the upcoming documentary film Val, which profiles the life of actor Val Kilmer. It’s a fascinating and moving trailer that takes us on a journey through the life Kilmer has led.
Over the course of his life and career, Kilmer shot thousands of hours of footage, from 16mm home movies with his brothers to time spent in iconic roles for movies like Top Gun, The Doors, Tombstone, and Batman. The doc is described as a “raw, wildly original, and unflinching film” revealing “a life lived to extremes and a heart-filled, sometimes hilarious look at what it means to be an artist and a complex man."
Kilmer has spent the past few years engaged in a battle with throat cancer, and has re-emerged after time spent in private getting chemotherapy and recovering.
Val was co-directed by Ting Poo and Leo Scott, and produced by A24 and it will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Amazon Studios will be releasing Val sometime later this year.
