Val Kilmer is Ready to Return as Ice Man in TOP GUN 2

We already know that Tom Cruise will be returning to the newly announced Top Gun sequel, but we haven't heard any other casting news. It goes without saying there are plenty of opportunities for actors from the original to have a place in the sequel. One of those actors, Val Kilmer, is already expressing interest. Kilmer, who played the Ice Man in the 1986 classic, says he's ready to get back on the highway to the danger zone.

The day the sequel was announced, Kilmer tweeted this:

You gotta love Kilmer's enthusiasm to join the cast. It does go without saying that Ice Man was in integral part of Top Gun and it would be fun to have him in a follow up, but the question would be how would they use him in a way that doesn't seem forced.

Top Gun 2 will reportedly start filming in 2018.
