VENOM Set Videos Show Tom Hardy in a Brawl and Michelle Williams Confirms Her Role in the Film

Some new photos and a couple of videos have surfaced from the set of Ruben Fleischer's Venom. They feature Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in a fight with actor Scott Haze, who is is one of the film's villains. We don't know who that villain is, but fan speculation suggests that he will be one of Life Foundation's five Guardians that end up bonding with the symbiote.

Hardy previously talked about the film confirming that the movie would be inspired by the Venom: Lethal Protector comic book miniseries. Venom: Lethal Protector was a 1993 six-issue miniseries written by David Michelinie. The story followed Venom moving to San Francisco after he and Spider-Man made a truce.

Once in San Francisco, Venom is hunted down by the Life Foundation, who wants to study the Venom symbiote so they can use it for their own evil purposes. From it they will create five new symbiote spawn including Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.

Hardy also stars alongside Michelle Williams in the film, who was rumored to be playing the character Ann Weying, a.k.a. She-Venom. All officially know about Williams' role, though, is that she was playing an attorney and possible love interest of Eddie Brock. Now, during an interview with ScreenRant, Williams seemingly confirms she's playing Ann:

SR: Is Venom comparable to anything else you’ve done previously, and what can you tell us about Anne Weying?

Michelle Williams: I’ve done one other movie where I was asked to track a tennis ball with my eyes and pretend it was a giant creature thing. Not my favorite thing in the world to do, but it is a skill set and I’m trying to learn it. And uh, she’s, geez, what can I tell you? Not too much right now.

She doesn't deny that she's playing Ann, but she doesn't really talk about the character either. Regardless, it seems pretty obvious that she would be playing Ann in the first place. It will be interesting to see how this film ends up playing with her story arc.

Venom hits theaters on Oct. 5, 2018.
