THE VENTURE BROS. Star Patrick Warburton Talks About Brock Samson's Retirement Plan
We haven’t talked about The Venture Bros. in a long time! This has been such a fun series to watch over the past two decades, and there’s more in the works with an upcoming movie that’s coming to HBO Max. At least I hope it is! I haven’t heard that it was canceled.
In a recent interview with Paste, Patrick Waburton, the voice behind the fan-favorite character Brock Samson, talked about his character and shared his thoughts on what Brock would do with his retirement.
The upcoming Venture Bros. movie is most likely going to bring an end to the story, and when Warburton was asked if he was ready to say goodbye to this character that he’s been playing all these years, he said:
"Never! Although one year I decided to go to Comic Con down in San Diego, and I decided to go as Shore Leave instead of Brock. I was with my son Shane, and he went as Shore Leave too, so we must have looked really kinky together. Nobody even recognized me; people were getting pictures thinking I was just a fan dressed as Shore Leave."
Warburton then discussed Brock’s perfect retirement plan, and he thinks the character deserves to relax. He shared:
"If he retires, I see him getting somewhere way out and remote. Just chilling away from all the violence and super science. Just not having to babysit those boys who never grew older would probably be a good vacation for him."
In the film, “Doc’s latest invention will either bankrupt the Ventures or launch them to new heights, as Hank searches for himself, Dean searches for Hank, The Monarch searches for answers, and a mysterious woman from their pasts threatens to bring their entire world crashing down on them.”
The Venture Bros. is created, written and executive produced by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer. The movie was announced two years ago, and I hop that it ends up being released sometime soon!
What did you think about Warburton’s thoughts on Brock’s retirement? What do you think his retirement should be?
