Vera Farmiga is set to take on the lead role in an upcoming Hurricane Katrina-inspired project being developed for Apple TV+ titled Five Days at Memorial.

The show is based on the book written by Sheri Fink of the same name and the story chronicles the first five days in a New Orleans, LA, hospital after Hurricane Katrina hit. “When the floodwaters rose, the power failed, and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers were forced to make life-and-death decisions that haunted them for years to come.”

Farmiga will take on the lead role of Dr. Anna Pou. She is an incredibly talented actress and I’ve enjoyed her performances in everything that she’s been in, and there’s no doubt that she’ll be great in this role.

Five Days at Memorial was written by John Ridley and Carlton Cuse and they will also serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. Both Ridley and Cuse are also going to direct as well.
