Vera Farmiga Explains That Her GODZILLA 2 Character is a "DJ For The Monsters"

Vera Farmiga has revealed some interesting news about the character she plays in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She says that her character, Dr. Emma Russell, has found a way to communicate with the giant monsters and possibly control them. How? You ask. Well, she says she's like a DJ for the monsters! While talking to Metro, she explained:

"She has figured out a way to communicate with the creatures and potentially control them using their bioacoustics on a sonar level. So she is like a DJ for the monsters."

I doubt that she's going to be on a stage at a monster rave controlling them by spinning records, although, that is a pretty funny visual to imagine! It will be interesting to see how controlling these giant monsters will play into the story. We also don't know if Farminga will be using this DJ monster power for good or for evil. But, I think it's safe to say that whatever it's being used for will go horribly wrong.

Michael Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat) is directing the film and I believe that he's going to deliver something totally awesome. Here's the synopsis:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

King of the Monsters also stars Ken WatanabeSally HawkinsKyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Aisha Hinds (Star Trek Into Darkness), and Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).

The movie will be released in theaters on May 31, 2019.
