Video Breaks Down Drugs In Esports Controversy And Why It's A Big Deal
I watched an awesome video today by Good Game Well Played that gave a really detailed report on the entire "drugs in Esports" controversy. In a community that's really niche and meta, it really gives casual gamers and outsiders a perspective into how big of a deal this issue really is! I would be angry too if some drugged out kids were walking home with 400k in a competition that I played clean! It also shows how drug monitoring is common in even the oddest of sports (darts), so why should gaming be an exception?
It clarified the situation that brought the issue to light for me as well. When I first read about Kory Friesan, I thought his team won the tournament and he was bragging about their use of Aderrall. Watching the video, you see this was not at all the case.
Hats off to this video for really driving it home for me.
