Video: COBRA KAI Stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka Look Back and Discuss Who Was Really the Bad Guy in THE KARATE KID
Cobra Kai stars Ralph Macchio, who plays Daniel LaRusso, and William Zabka, who plays Johnny Lawrence, met up for a fun video put out by Netflix where they take a look back at some of the scenes in The Karate Kid in which they solidified their enemy status, and ask the question, “Who was the real bad guy in this situation?” It’s funny because when I, and I’m sure many of you, watched this movie as a kid, you thought Daniel was the hero of his story, and Johnny was a jerk who got what was coming to him.
But after years of speculation and rewatches (and wondering why the final crane kick to the face was even legal), you can totally see Johnny’s point of view, and it kind of seems like Daniel was a bit of a jerk at times! Now watching the two men in Cobra Kai, you can totally see that they each have redeeming moments and qualities, but cringy, immature behavior at times as well.
