We always read the Disney logo as Disney, besides the fact that the "D," in the logo looks nothing like the letter. It's not hard to explain why we do that, but it is hard to track down exactly why Disney ended up making the "loopy D," part of their company logo. Vlogbrothers has pinned down exactly when the D started, however, and also explained why the "D," is much weirder than folks might initially assume.
