Video: FAST & FURIOUS Franchise Recapped in Under 3 Minutes

Without a shred of irony, I'm here to tell you that I absolutely love the Fast & Furious movies. It's one of the most chronologically complex franchises in Hollywood* (for those who are counting, the current order stands at: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 3, 7), and I'm a big fan of the mythology that the series has built over the years. These movies are all about family, and seeing the way the characters have interacted and woven together over the past — wow — almost fifteen years has been pretty cool to witness. Not to mention the fact that over the past few movies, these films have seemingly taken pleasure in one-upping the previous movie in terms of ludicrous action set pieces, which I always appreciate.

The people at Cinefix (via /Film) have put together an animated recap video that breathlessly races through the history of this franchise, but I'd recommend actually watching the films instead of relying on this to catch you up. For those of us who have seen all the movies, it's a humorous trip down memory lane. (Get it? "Lane"? Like a street...that cars race on?) Check it out:

*Yes, I'm aware that the order of these movies isn't really THAT difficult to follow if you pay attention. But in the current studio landscape, for Universal to allow anything that requires even a modicum of thought from the audience feels like they're taking a huge chance.
