Video Rant Explains Why Video Game Movies Suck
I believe that video game films are about to take a turn for the better. Warcraft was awesome, Assassin’s Creed looks great, and we’ve got a slew of other films in various stages of development like Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider, and more. Video games in the past, though, haven’t done very well. There’s a long history of shitty video games, and thanks to a new video rant from The Film Guy, we have an explanation as to why that is the case. One of the main points made in the video is that video games are more driven by the gameplay and that the story, if there is even a story, is used just as a tool to keep the player moving through the game. With films the story is the main drive, and a lot of the time that story isn’t strong enough for a film. Check out the video below and let us know what you think about his opinion on the matter.
