The accusation that Disney lifted most of its ideas for The Lion King from the Japanese film Kimba has been out there for quite a while, but one can't really fully appreciate how much Disney copied without seeing the evidence side by side. I'm not all that mad they did it, mind you, and I 100% agree The Lion King is a far better execution of the idea, but it is crazy to see how Disney seemingly straight up lifted a film premise from the Japanese and made a boat-load of money doing so.
