Video: Take a Closer Look at Disneyland's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Attraction Replacing Tower of Terror

Disneyland has unveiled a new video that provides a more detailed look at Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!, the new superhero-themed attraction that's replacing the park's beloved Tower of Terror. We saw some concept art during Comic-Con, and now there's a video that shows off some of the designs and colors fans will see when they approach the huge building housing the ride.

A huge transformation is underway now at Disney California Adventure park, as The Collector's Fortress takes shape at the site of what is now the Hollywood Tower Hotel. It will be home to a new adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, and today we have a detailed look at what the fortress will look like when the attraction opens summer 2017.

/Film has more info about the attraction's actual storyline:

In the storyline, The Collector’s Fortress is the “ideal location for The Collector to secure and show off his most prized acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy.” Previously we learned that one member of the group, the intrepid Rocket, has escaped, and he calls upon brave visitors for help. Guests board a gantry lift which launches them into a daring adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to set free his fellow Guardians.
The new attraction will add new visual and audio effects to the free-fall ride, creating a variety of ride experiences through multiple, random and unique ride profiles in which the rise and fall of the gantry lift rocks to the beat of music inspired by the film’s popular soundtrack.

That all sounds well and good, but I still wish it didn't have to come at the expense of one of the most beloved attractions in the entire park. Mission: BREAKOUT! is slated to open in summer of 2017.
