Video: The Limitations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Part 3
Patrick H Willems is back with Part 3 in his Youtube series of The Limitations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in this episode he interviews Griffin Newman, who plays Arthur Everest in The Tick, who explains his similar take on the MCU, and converses with Willems on their opinions about carrying on the Avengers in a new phase, and speculations about the future of the MCU. You can watch Part 1 here, and part 2 here.
Willems talks about what we may be able to expect from the changing world of the MCU with the addition of the Disney+ streaming service that could streamline all the Marvel series, and give us a closer feel to comic book stories that could all play into the movies. He hopes that short films could play a part in making story development more complete. And he suggests the greatest spinoff idea I’ve heard yet- Luis, Dave and Kurt from the Ant-Man movies! I’d absolutely watch that!
The guys go on to chat about film genres, the pros and cons of the DC Film Universe, and how they are a little envious of the standalone film style and the freedom it’s experiencing with films like Aquaman and the upcoming Joker film.
It’s an interesting conversation, and a little less polarizing than the last two videos in my opinion. Just two dudes talking about movies in the genre we all know and love. Watch the video below and let us know what you think.
