Viggo Mortensen and Peter Farrelly Re-Team For THE GREATEST BEER RUN EVER: A TRUE STORY OF FRIENDSHIP STRONGER THAN WAR
Actor Viggo Mortensen, known for The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, and The Road, is teaming back up with Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary, Stuck on You), who directed him in the fantastic 2018 film, Green Book. They are set to star in and direct the untitled adaptation of the novel The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War. Variety reports Mortensen will have a supporting role in the film.
Here’s the synopsis:
The book, written by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue, is based on the true story of Donohue, who left New York in 1967 to track down and share a few beers with his childhood buddies in the Army … while they were fighting in Vietnam.
Brian Currie and Pete Jones will co-write the script with Farrelly. This sounds like an interesting true story. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this film and checking it out when it’s ready. How about you?
