Vin Diesel Announces Director Justin Lin and Jordana Brewster Will Return For FAST AND FURIOUS 9 and 10
Vin Diesel recently announced on Facebook Live, that director Justin Lin and actress Jordana Brewster will return for Fast and Furious 9 and Fast and Furious 10.
Justin Lin directed the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth installments of the franchise, so it's pretty cool to see that he's coming back to direct parts nine and ten. The guy has been dedicated to this franchise and it seems appropriate that he would be the director to bring it to a close. From what I understand, the tenth film might be the last.
It's also interesting to learn that Jordana Brewster will be back. I wasn't sure if we'd see her again after Furious 7, which was Paul Walker's final film in the franchise after he tragically died. They made it seem like Brian and Mia were going to leave this world behind them. I guess it makes sense to eventually bring Mia back, though, because she is Dom's sister.
Vin Diesel had this to say in the video which he was filming on a "secret set", which you can watch below:
“You wanted 9 and 10 to be incredible. We’ve heard your concerns about the saga and where it needs to arrive in its final chapters."
Fast and Furious 9 is set to be released on April 10, 2020. But before that, we'll be getting a untitled spinoff film featuring Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Deckard. That movie will be released on July 26, 2019 and it's been the cause of a lot of drama.
Anyway, it's good to see that Justin Lin will be back at the helm of the FF franchise!
