Vin Diesel is in Talks To Star in The Film Adaptation of BLOODSHOT
Vin Diesel may have found a new comic book film project to star in. According to The Wrap, the actor is in talks to join the big screen adaptation of Bloodshot. Valiant Comics' Bloodshot is the first film in a shared cinematic universe that is being developed by Sony Pictures. All these films will be based on Valient comic books that will also include Harbinger.
If cast, Diesel will play Angelo Mortalli, "a ruthless killer for the mob who is set up by the family and framed for a murder. He instead goes into Witness Protection, but is betrayed by an FBI agent guarding him, kidnapped and forcibly subjected to an experimental program in which his body is injected with microscopic computers called nanites. They erase his brain and rebuild it and his body to be a weapon with superhuman strength and healing powers."
The character was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin, and Bob Laytonback in 1992. Jared Leto was previously up for the role, but Vin Diesel definitely fits the character a little better.
Fast and Furious franchise producer Neal Moritz is also involved with the film, so it's not surprising to see that Diesel is wanting to get involved.
Bloodshot will be directed by Dave Wilson, who is Deadpool director Tim Miller's partner at Blur Studios. The film is being written by Eric Heisserer (Arrival) and the studio is looking to develop it as an R-rated film that is being likened to Robocop, Terminator, and Total Recall.
