Vin Diesel Responds to Sexual Battery Allegations From Former Assistant Calling Them "Outlandish"
We recently reported that actor Vin Diesel was being sued by his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, who claims he committed sexual battery against her, as well as “gender discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation and negligent supervision.” The filed charges allege that when she was working for the actor in Atlanta, where he was filming Fast Five, he brought her to his suite at the St. Regis Hotel and forced her onto his bed. The rest of the gory details are in our original linked article, or you can read the suit itself as well.
Yesterday, Diesel and his representation had not yet issued a statement on the charges, but now, Bryan Freedman, Diesel’s attorney, has issued a statement on behalf of the actor, denying the allegations.
“Let me be very clear: Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety,” Freedman said. “This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13-year-old claim made by a purportedly 9-day employee. There is clear evidence which completely refutes these outlandish allegations.”
I hope the truth prevails, no matter what that is, and Jonasson finds peace. We will let you know if any more news on this story develops.
