Vin Diesel Says the Guardians of the Galaxy Will Appear in THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
A lot of Marvel fans have been wondering how Thor’s relationship with the Guardians of the Galaxy would be handled in the future films of the MCU. After all, the last time we saw Thor he was embarking on an adventure with them.
Well, it looks like that storyline will be resolved in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. According to Vin Diesel, the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in the film. While Talking to CB, he said:
“I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about [how] Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy… That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
He probably shouldn’t have said anything, but the cat’s out of the bag! It makes complete sense that the Guardians would appear in the next Thor film, though. James Gunn previously confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will take place after the fourth Thor movie, so they have to tie up the fact that he’s been roaming the universe with them. His time with the Guardians will eventually lead him to whatever story Thor: Love and Thunder will tell.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi from a script he will write with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great). Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will return as Thor and Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman is also set to reprise her role as Jane Foster and will wield the mighty Mjolnir. Christian Bale will portray the main villain in the film.
The female Thor storyline is based on Jason Aaron’s run on The Mighty Thor, the story of which follows a cancer-stricken Jane Foster who takes up the mantle and powers of Thor. We don’t know for sure yet if the cancer element will be a part of the film’s story, but it should be!
