Vin Diesel Says We Still Haven't Seen "Full-Fledged Working-Man Groot" Yet
Groot has become an extremely popular character in the MCU, and fans are going to love little toddler Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. According to Vin Diesel, we still have yet to see a fully matured Groot, but we will eventually see him, and it sounds like it will be a sight to see.
While talking to USA Today, the actor revealed:
"The first Groot we saw was a freshman in college. This [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2] Groot is in nursery school. Wait ’til we see the full-fledged working-man Groot. Wait ’til we see GROOT!"
He doesn't exactly say when we will see the full-grown Groot, but I imagine it won't happen until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Who knows, though. Depending on how the timeline and the growth rate of Groot, maybe we'll see him in Avengers: Infinity War.
I imagine this full-fledged version of Groot will just look crazy gnarly like the comic book art above. As you know, Diesel has been very vocal about wanting to see a Groot spinoff film and when director James Gunn was asked about the possibility, he said:
“Vin has a lot of ideas. I don’t know where he comes up with these things! I love Vin."
It'll be fun to see how Groot evolves over the course of these next few Marvel films that he'll be involved with.
