Vin Diesel Shares That RIDDICK 4 is Closer Than We Think
Vin Diesel and writer/director David Twohy have been hard at work developing a fourth installment of the Riddick franchise for some time now. The film is titled Riddick: Furya, and Diesel recently offered an update on the project that is sure to get Riddick fans excited. He shared the following on Instagram:
“Incredible meeting today, thanks team you know who you are... Let’s just say Furia maybe closer than you think.”
Closer than we think? That’s cool! We know the script has been complete for awhile now and when previously talking about that script, Diesel said:
"David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It's just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we're shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome."
It was previously revealed that Furya is the name of Riddick's homeworld, and this next chapter is said to serve as an origin story for Diesel’s character. Twohy previously said that the film would be a prequel that gives a sense of the character's history.
The tagline, as read by Diesel’s son in a social media post a couple of years ago reads, "Everyone wants to be a beast, until it’s time to do what real beasts do."
I like the Riddick franchise, Twohy has done some great stuff with it and it’ll be interesting to see what he’s got planned for Furya.
