Vince Gilligan's PLURIBUS Sets Record For Biggest Apple TV+ Drama Series Premiere
Two weeks ago, Apple TV+ debuted the latest series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. It has now been announced that Pluribus has won the title of most viewed drama of all time at Apple.
According to the streamer, the series broke the record previously held by Severance Season 2 for the biggest global drama series launch cross Apple TV’s more than 100 territories, led by the U.S., UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Mexico, India and France.
In the U.S., the top delivery has been corroborated by the Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, measuring minutes for Episodes 1 and 2 of drama originals over premiere weekend.
Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn in the lead role of Carol, an author who goes out with her friend, only to witness a mysterious happening that changes the course of the world.
Vince Gilligan got his start producing and directing The X-Files, and this series absolutely has an X-Files vibe with a twist of The Twilight Zone. It has been a blast to watch!
Pluribus has already been given a second season order, and its co-stars include Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga, with guest stars Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte. The show’s fourth episode drops today, and Apple is set to release new episodes every Friday until the end of season 1, with episode 9 on December 26th.
