Vincent D'Onofrio Teases an Intense Second Season of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN - "It's F---ing Brutal"

Vincent D’Onofrio has played a lot of cool characters in his career, but none have been as formidable and notorious as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, from the Daredevil/Daredevil: Born Again series. Born Again season 2 is headed our way, and D’Onofrio himself is hyping the return as way more intense than season 1, which is a pretty tall order!

The actor attended Rhode Island Comic Con (via CinemaBlend), with co-stars Deborah Ann Woll and Wilson Bethel and during a panel Q&A, Season 2 was the main topic.

Bethel, whose semi-villainous Bullseye will take on a larger role, hyped the new episodes by drawing a comparison to the first season, saying they didn’t feel as much like the Netflix series as they could have. D’Onofrio then chimed in, saying:

“You guys are in for quite an intense season. It is intense. It is not a light storyline. I mean, it's f---ing brutal. The second season was more exciting for me.”

He went on to throw the first season under the bus, seemingly annoyed by the build-up, which will lead to this great second season.

“We were able to Frankenstein the first season to get to the second season of the show we really wanted to make. Part of the first season is a bunch of stuff we had to live with because we shot it already. We did reshoot a lot. I would say 60%, but certain things we couldn't. The second season was the first time we were able to do the show that we wanted to do.”

The first season definitely had bumps in the road, with the original writers being replaced after a bunch of footage was already in the can. Hopefully now the growing pains have passed, and we will be able to get right down to the action-packed story the cast has promised.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is set to debut on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
